Privacy Policy

Account information: When you register, we collect your full name, email address, and a password (stored encrypted).

Contact details: To send you job alerts, we collect your WhatsApp-enabled phone number.

Payment information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect your M-Pesa number and transaction reference. We do not store card numbers — payments are processed by IntaSend, a licensed Kenyan payment processor.

Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with our platform (pages visited, filters used, jobs clicked) to improve your experience.

Job preferences: The categories you choose for alerts are stored so we can send you relevant notifications.

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Send you WhatsApp or SMS job alerts matching your selected categories (paid subscribers only)
• Process your subscription payments via M-Pesa
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts)
• Improve our job matching and platform features
• Comply with legal obligations under Kenyan law

We do not use your data for unrelated marketing or sell it to third parties.

We share your data only with the following trusted service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Africa's Talking — delivers WhatsApp and SMS alerts to your phone number
• IntaSend — processes M-Pesa payments securely
• Supabase — our database and authentication provider, hosted on secure cloud infrastructure
• Vercel — our website hosting provider

Each provider is bound by data processing agreements and their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with any other third party without your consent, except where required by law.

KaziAlert aggregates publicly available job listings from multiple job boards. We display job title, company name, salary range, and location. We do not share your personal information with employers listed on our platform unless you choose to apply and contact them directly.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., payment records, which we retain for 7 years as required by Kenyan tax law).

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your account and personal data
• Withdraw consent to receiving WhatsApp alerts at any time by replying STOP or updating your profile
• Object to certain types of processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) of Kenya

We use only essential cookies required to keep you logged in and to maintain your session. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent you from logging in.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and role-based database access controls. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and not share your account credentials.

KaziAlert is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately at privacy@kazialert.co.ke.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top and notify registered users by email if the changes are significant. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
